When the Eagle Academy renovated and expanded the former D.C. Public School surplus building that now houses their new Eagle Center at McGogney, the first early childhood public charter school in Washington, D.C., their goal was to design an intellectually stimulating and sustainable environment for their students without compromising the security of the building. Working with CPI Daylighting to install a 13,000-square-foot UniQuad panel system to the exterior of the building, the Eagle Academy was able to achieve the natural daylighting they wanted for their building without having to use windows. Made from highly durable material, and with advanced Removable Skin Technology that allows each panel to be removed and replaced one at a time, the UniQuad system also offers ultimate building protection. In addition to sustainable solutions, the UniQuad panel system provides a one-of-a-kind aesthetic for the school. Featuring a custom seamless glazed look with alternating blue and white inside panels and matte-finished outside panels, the award-winning LEED Silver certified building has become a neighborhood icon.
